Ottone Nigro Prize
In 2021, the Association of Invalid Civilians (ANMIC South Tyrol) has decided to award the annual “Ottone Nigro Prize” to three South Tyrolean citizens, organizations or companies who have been active in promoting the integration of invalid civilians, raising public awareness, and supporting voluntary work in the field of disability and inclusion.
The name of the prize
The decision to dedicate the prize to Cav. Ottone Nigro, 3rd president of ANMIC South Tyrol, was unequivocal. It is hard to imagine a better figure to transmit the message of hope and cohesion than a great man who, under his leadership, has made ANMIC South Tyrol the largest representation of invalid civilians and people with disabilities. Our former president Cav. Ottone Nigro spent his entire life representing the weakest members of society. And it is thanks to his determination that many rights in favour of South Tyrol’s invalid civilians have been obtained. “Cohesion” and “inclusion” are the foundations of our association, and according to Ottone Nigro, these are the values to which our actions must aspire to ensure a barrier-free life to everyone.
Application
It is not possible to apply for the prize. The prize winners are chosen by the board and the president of ANMIC South Tyrol.
